
There are many types of filler that can be directly injected
into the lips to make them larger and fuller. Unfortunately
they are all temporary with various lengths of duration.

Collagen can last between 2-6 months with an average of
barely 3 months. It has many disadvantages including significant
allergic reactions and requires pre-treatment testing.

Hyaluronic
Acid is a naturally occurring substance found in all living
cells and has been used in Europe extensively for over
10- years. It is extremely safe and requires no pre-testing.
It lasts twice as long as collagen.

Fat can be harvested from any part of the body during
liposuction and can be frozen and readily injected into
the lips. It can last variably between 2 months and 2
years, but resorbs at differential rates and can become
lumpy and bumpy. It can also resorb from one area of the
lip while staying in another part, causing significant
unevenness.
